A youth from Assam, hailing from Guwahati tried to abduct a woman forcefully near the GS road area while she was back from her work. According to the sources, the accused with three other of his friends tried to abduct the woman forcefully but failed as people present in the area rescued her. Later, the accused with his four-wheelers tried to run over the victim and her friend, injuring both of them. Further, both the victims were rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, police have nabbed the accused one and are under investigation.

Assam's one of the biggest High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations has began from 16 February and the examination is set to conclude on March 16, 2024. According to the sources, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) announced the introduction of the OMR sheet for the first time in four subjects - general mathematics, general science, social science, and English subjects.
