Adani Transmission Limited, India’s largest private sector transmission and distribution company, has won the ‘Golden Peacock Environment Management Award (GPEMA)’ in the Power Transmission sector from the Institute of Directors (IOD).
ATL has been awarded the ‘Golden Peacock Environment Management Award’ for its commitment to minimizing its ecological footprint through programs like zero waste to land fill, single-use plastic-free, water-positive operations, renewable energy integration, and best-in-class environmental management strategies. This recognition reflects ATL’s leadership in the industry and its role as a responsible corporate citizen. This year, an assessment group comprising Environment, Health & Safety, Energy and Climate Change experts assessed over 520 applications.
These applications were later reviewed by eminent jury committee chaired by Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India and former Chairman, National Human Rights Commission of India, and National Commission for Constitution of India Reforms.ATL was awarded ‘winner’ for its strategic initiative to increase renewable energy in bulk power procurement for distribution in Mumbai. The award focuses on regulatory compliance, risk management, and sustainable business strategies, recognizing ATL’s long-term ESG commitment.
