Ather Energy hits 5,00,000 electric scooter milestone with Rizta rollout

Ather Energy Limited, a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has crossed a landmark production milestone with the rollout of its 5,00,000th scooter from its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu. The milestone vehicle was the company’s flagship family scooter, Rizta, which has quickly emerged as a key growth driver since its launch last year.

Speaking on the achievement, Swapnil Jain, Co-founder and CTO of Ather Energy, said, “Crossing 5,00,000 scooters is a major milestone for Ather. This achievement reflects years of focused engineering, rigorous testing, and meticulous attention to quality, along with the dedication of our teams and the trust of our owner community.”

The Rizta now accounts for over a third of Ather’s production volumes, supporting the company’s rapid expansion across Middle and North India, particularly in tier 2 and 3 cities alongside metro markets. Ather operates two manufacturing units in Hosur—vehicle assembly and battery production—with an annual capacity of 4,20,000 scooters. The upcoming Factory 3.0 in Bidkin, Maharashtra, once fully operational, will expand total annual production capacity to 1.42 million units. Kolkata has emerged as a key urban hub for Ather, witnessing growing adoption of electric scooters driven by rising awareness of clean mobility and government incentives. Local dealerships report that the Rizta’s combination of performance, affordability, and design is resonating strongly with city commuters, boosting Ather’s presence in the eastern Indian market.
