Assam Secures ₹1.67 Lakh Crore in Investment Deals with Leading Firms

The Assam government has signed ‘Confirmation of Investment’ agreements with 69 business entities, anticipating investments of Rs 1,67,108.51 crore, which are projected to create around one lakh direct and indirect jobs. Prominent companies involved include Adani Defense and Aerospace, Ambuja Concrete North Pvt. Ltd., and Oil India Limited. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to these companies for their commitment during an investment summit, emphasizing that these agreements mark a tangible shift from summit discussions to actionable investments. He highlighted Assam’s transformation into a preferred industrial destination, noting the state’s diverse economic landscape and commitment to development. Sarma referenced past investment MoUs worth Rs 5.18 lakh crore during Advantage Assam 2.0, stating that nearly Rs 3 lakh crore has already been invested within a year of the summit, underscoring the state’s growth potential and active role in India’s development goals.
