Assam Rifles provided immediate medical assistance to an injured civilian at Mimi Company Operating Base, reaffirming its commitment towards humanitarian assistance and community welfare in remote areas.
Mr Pintu Banerjee, a construction worker from Khongka Village, sustained a deep cut injury to his head when a tree accidentally fell on him at a construction site. He reported to Mimi Company Operating Base with active bleeding and was promptly attended to at the MI Room.
The Nursing Assistant administered immediate first aid under sterile conditions. The wound was thoroughly cleaned and dressed and a pressure bandage was applied to control further blood loss. The bleeding was successfully controlled and the individual was stabilised in a timely manner. At the time of discharge, Mr Banerjee was conscious, stable and responsive. He was advised to report to the nearest civil hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The prompt action by Assam Rifles reflects its continued dedication towards humanitarian assistance and strengthening civil–military relations in far-flung regions.
