Assam has seen 3 new COVID-19 infections

Assam has recorded three new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the state’s total number of active cases to 29, according to the most recent report from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The data, which was released on Sunday, also revealed that the state had experienced 14 recoveries since January 2025, including one more recovery in the last day. In India, there are currently 7,383 active COVID-19 cases, and 10 more fatalities have been reported in the last 24 hours.

According to health professionals, most of the infections that are now happening are minor in character and are effectively managed with home isolation recommendations. Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation and advise locals to exercise caution and take basic safety measures. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) said that as of 8 am on June 16, there were 7,264 active cases and 11 new deaths in India. According to the ministry’s bulletin, since January of this year, 108 COVID-19 deaths had occurred in India, and as of 8 a.m. on June 10, 11 further deaths had been reported.

A 67-year-old man with lung cancer passed away in Delhi from acute respiratory failure caused by COVID-19 pneumonia, and an 85-year-old guy with chronic respiratory failure and active COVID-19 also passed away in Chhattisgarh.
