As India has a year-long run of G20, Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi said of the business opportunities that the northeastern regions could come under attraction.
He pointed out the geographical location of the region that could be used for advantage. He said the long international border it shares with North East Asian, Southeast Asian and BBN countries gives the region a unique geographical advantage.
Assam’s centrality to the North-Eastern states enabled it to become a link of trade and commerce with emerging countries. The Governor said the government is working to position Assam as a gateway and expressway to ASEAN and Southeast Asia.
The Governor also mentioned the new policy through which the development of North Eastern regions is being pushed.
