Assam Governor Lauds Bharat Scouts And Guides For Yeoman Services

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended the 24th Rajya Puraskar Award Ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Assam chapter held at Bhogeswar Phukanani Indoor Stadium at Rudra Singha Sports Complex in Guwahati on Friday.
The Governor, in his speech, lauded the awardees for their commitment to the core values of service, character and leadership.
Acharya also acknowledged the invaluable role played by parents, trainers, and officials in nurturing responsible and capable young citizens.
He commended the Bharat Scouts and Guides for their yeoman services rendered during the last 75 years particular during natural disasters and emergencies, demonstrating exemplary commitment.
The Governor noted that the organisation with over 6.3 million members, including a significant number of young women, is among the largest youth organisations in the world and has been playing a vital role in nation-building.
He also highlighted its contributions during natural disasters and its role in promoting national unity and leadership among youth.
Referring to the motto “Be Prepared,” the Governor urged the youth to equip themselves with essential life skills and face future challenges with confidence and determination.
It may be mentioned that the Rajya Puraskar Award for the year 2024 and 2025 was presented to 40 members and honourable charge to 20 adult leaders of the organisation.
