Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Monday hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony at the Auditorium of 91 Yards Club, ACA Stadium Complex, Guwahati, honouring players, teams, coaches, curators and support staff for their exceptional performances and invaluable contributions during the 2025–26 cricketing season.
In a grand gesture of appreciation for sporting excellence, Assam Cricket Association distributed cash rewards amounting Rs 12 lakh among 12 distinguished best performers who excelled across various categories during the BCCI Domestic Season-2025-2026.
The semi-finalist Assam Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy Team was also honoured with a cash reward of Rs 12.5 lakh in recognition of its remarkable achievement and commendable performance at the national level during the 2025-26 season.
In the ACA Corporate Cricket Tournament, the champion team was felicitated with a prize money of Rs 7 lakh, while the runner-up team received Rs 3 lakh.
The event also witnessed the felicitation of the champion and runner-up teams of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship (APCC) 2025–26, with a prize money of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 15 lakh respectively.
In the Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament 2026 (Plate Group)- Naba Kamal Bhuyan Trophy, the champion team received a prize money of Rs 10 lakh, while the runner-up team was awarded Rs 7 lakh in acknowledgement of their outstanding performances.
The ACA curators were also felicitated on the occasion in a gesture to honour their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts in ensuring world-class playing conditions despite challenging weather during the three IPL matches in ACA Stadium, Guwahati.
It is noteworthy that the curators and the ground staff were already rewarded with an amount of Rs 25 lakh just after the three matches in April.
The ceremony was graced by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia as the chief guest. ACA president Taranga Gogoi along with other office bearers were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Saikia lauded the consistent efforts of the Assam Cricket Association in nurturing cricketing talent and strengthening the sporting ecosystem in the state.
He praised the dedication and discipline displayed by the players and teams and acknowledged the invaluable contribution of coaches, curators and support staff in the growth of Assam cricket.
Saikia specially appreciated the ACA curators and ground staff for their exceptional professionalism and tireless efforts in maintaining excellent playing conditions during all three IPL 2026 matches at the ACA Stadium, Guwahati despite challenging weather conditions.
He also congratulated the Assam under-16 team for reaching the Vijay Merchant Trophy semifinals in 2025-26 season and encouraged the young cricketers to continue striving for excellence and bringing greater laurels to Assam cricket.
