Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has launched a sharp critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly neglecting various segments of the Indian population in its latest Union budget. Speaking to reporters, Gogoi accused the BJP of boycotting farmers, students, taxpayers, and urban residents. Gogoi lambasted the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not providing legal protection to farmers regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP). “The BJP has ignored the students whose higher education exams were repeatedly canceled and the hardworking taxpayers by removing the benefit of indexation,” he stated.
Highlighting infrastructure issues, Gogoi noted, “The BJP has failed the urban population by allowing the deterioration of infrastructure, railway lines, and bridges.” The Congress MP further accused the BJP of prioritizing the interests of a few big industrialists over the welfare of the general public. He claimed this favoritism led the INDIA bloc to boycott the BJP in the Niti Aayog meeting.
Calling the BJP “selfish,” Gogoi remarked, “PM Modi is weak and helpless. He has betrayed and ignored the rest of India to keep CMs Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu happy and secure his government.” Expressing concerns about future budgets, Gogoi added, “Even though elections in Bihar and Andhra Pradesh are next year, the BJP has already started ignoring the rest of the country. If this budget favors two political parties, what can we expect next year?”
