Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his firm belief that the youth of the state will play a pivotal role in shaping its future, particularly by embracing new technologies and innovation. Speaking at a gathering where he felicitated 1,517 meritorious students from his Jalukbari constituency, Sarma highlighted the government’s focus on empowering the younger generation with the skills needed to thrive in the ever-evolving global landscape. Sarma emphasized the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements, urging students to stay relevant by adapting to fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, 3D printing, augmented reality, and quantum physics. “The youth must harness the potential of these technologies to become a formidable force in the fourth industrial revolution,” he stated.
A key highlight of Sarma’s address was the announcement of the Rs 27,000 crore semiconductor project at Jagiroad, which is expected to create immense opportunities for the youth of Assam. He noted that around 500 young people from the state are already receiving specialized training in semiconductor technology in Bengaluru, positioning them to benefit from the project once it becomes operational. The Chief Minister further pointed out that the state has witnessed significant advancements in infrastructure, knowledge, and investment, with a focus on equipping youth to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Sarma urged the students to dream big, work hard, and transform their aspirations into achievements.
He also took the opportunity to extend his best wishes to the people of Assam on the occasion of Uruka and Bhogali Bihu, expressing confidence that the celebrations would bring health and happiness to all.
