Assam CM unveils high-tech Agriculture Hub in Khetri under Indo-Israel project

The Center of Excellence for Vegetables in Khetri in Kamrup (Metro) district was opened on November 24 by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. It is a flagship facility created under the Indo-Israel Agricultural Project to bring state-of-the-art agricultural technologies. Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora and Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar attended the inauguration ceremony, which marked a significant turning point in India-Israel collaboration in contemporary irrigation and farming.

Speaking at the function, Chief Minister Sarma stated that the recently established facility exemplifies the solid agricultural innovation collaboration between Israel and India. He thanked the visiting delegation and the Israeli ambassador for helping Assam build the cutting-edge facility. Reuven Azar, the Israeli ambassador, emphasized the long-standing agricultural cooperation between Israel and India. The ambassador added that India is still one of Israel’s most dependable allies, as both countries have recently advanced a number of significant accords.

Strong momentum in bilateral cooperation is evident in multiple areas such as security, military collaboration, and trade talks, according to Azar. The Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora announced the commencement of a new agricultural centre, which is expected to significantly benefit farmers through advanced techniques and Israeli technical support. This Centre of Excellence aims to enhance productivity, diversify crops, and provide farmers with proven global practices.
