On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma inaugurated the Rs. 1220.21 crore project to transform the Dhemaji district from flood-prone areas.
The foundation was laid under the initiative “Bikakhor Babe Eta Pokhek” (a fortnight for development initiatives) at Dhemaji to bring about a paradigm shift in the development narrative of the district.
As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a new Medical College and Hospital at Dhemaji at a cost of Rs 605.24 crore, an Integrated DC Office at a cost of Rs 49.89 crore, Deoribile. 50.53 crores, District Sports Stadium Complex at Dhemaji, and a mini stadium at Silapathar at a cost of Rs.12.36 crores.
Apart from this many other initiatives will be taken to renew the district.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the new office constructed by the district BJP and addressed the party workers.
