Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the ACA (Assam Cricket Association) Cricket Stadium on Friday in Umarangso, Dima Hasao district, marking the first cricket stadium for the association in this area. The stadium is designed to accommodate approximately 15,000 spectators with earthen gallery seating and includes five dedicated practice pitches. In a nod to local heritage, the pavilion is named after Sengya Tularam Senapati. This new facility is expected to host domestic cricket matches organized by the Assam Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). CM Sarma highlighted the unique location of the stadium, stating that it is “nestled amidst clouds and surrounded by picturesque locales,” making it an extraordinary venue for both players and fans.
