Assam Assembly elections: Bodoland People’s Front announces first list of 11 candidates

The Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has officially announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, designating nominees for 11 constituencies within the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Key constituencies being contested include Gossaigaon, Dotma (ST), Kokrajhar (ST), Baokhungri, Parbotjhora, Sidli-Chirang (ST), Manas, Baksa (ST), Bhergaon, Udalguri (ST), and Mazbat. The party’s candidates are as follows: Sabharam Basumatary from Gossaigaon, Rabiram Narzary from Dotma (ST), Sewli Mohilary from Kokrajhar (ST), and Rupam Roy from Baokhungri. Additionally, Dr. Rezul Karim will compete in Parbotjhora, Paniram Brahma in Sidli-Chirang (ST), Thaneswar Basumatary in Manas, Maneswar Brahma in Baksa (ST), Maheswar Boro in Bhergaon, Rihon Daimary in Udalguri (ST), and Charan Boro in Mazbat. This candidate declaration marks BPF’s formal entry into the electoral contest, operating as part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and concentrating on their traditional strongholds within the BTR region.
