Security forces in Assam’s Cachar district seized heroin valued at Rs 3.25 crore and arrested five individuals during an operation on Saturday. The joint effort by Cachar Police and Assam Rifles was executed based on specific intelligence, targeting vehicles on the Silchar-Kalain Road. Authorities recovered 538 grams of heroin hidden in 48 soap cases and confiscated six mobile phones from the arrested suspects. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the operation on X, emphasizing the state’s ongoing commitment to eradicating drugs without compromise until Assam is declared drug-free.
