Army officer k*lled in road accident on NH10 in Sikkim

On November 16, an Army officer lost his life in a traffic accident on National Highway 10 after his two-wheeler collided with an Army truck. Colonel Dr. Vinod Kumar, the victim, was identified as being on a bike excursion with his friend, at the time of the event. Dr. Dhariwal said in the First Information Report filed at the Ranipool Police Station that the two had left Binnagudi, West Bengal, early in the morning. Colonel Dr. Kumar’s motorcycle struck a motorcycle approaching from the other way head-on when he was trying to pass an army truck. He suffered fatal injuries as he fell beneath the army truck’s back wheels as a result of the incident.

Doctors at confirmed Colonel Dr. Kumar dead after onlookers hurried him there. Abidan Gurung of Lingding, Gangtok, the other rider in the crash, is being treated at the same hospital at this time. Under the direction of an executive magistrate, the police examined the scene of the accident and preserved the corpse of the dead for an upcoming inquest and autopsy. Preliminary investigations and incident photos have been gathered, and more procedures are still awaited.
