Apollo Pharmacy, India’s largest and most trusted pharmacy network, has opened its 1000th store in East India, marking a major expansion milestone. The new outlet, launched in Darjeeling on November 17, will offer residents access to over 10,000 SKUs of genuine medicines and essential healthcare products.
With this addition, Apollo now operates 1,000 pharmacies across West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Tripura, employing more than 7,500 people in the region. Of these, over 850 stores are in West Bengal, where the company has also recently rolled out quick medicine delivery services to enhance accessibility.
Apollo’s strengthened presence is significant as the city continues to witness rising demand for reliable, round-the-clock healthcare services. Apollo’s expansion is expected to push overall market competition higher, improve availability of branded medicines, and accelerate adoption of faster delivery models. Healthcare consumers, too, are likely to benefit from better access to authentic medicines in a market known for its fast-growing urban population. Highlighting the milestone, P. Jayakumar, CEO of Apollo Pharmacy, said, “The opening of our 1000th pharmacy in East India marks an important step in our journey. We are strengthening our presence and ensuring people receive authentic medicines and quality care quickly and reliably.” Apollo also continues to expand its omnichannel platform, Apollo 24/7, offering teleconsultations, diagnostics, and customised insurance services directly to users’ homes.
