The 7th edition of the Apollo Cancer Conclave, held from November 8th to 10th, brought together over 2,000 oncologists and 400 experts from across the globe to discuss groundbreaking advancements in cancer care. Organized by Apollo Cancer Centres in Mumbai, the event focused on evolving treatments, precision oncology, and cutting-edge technology in cancer management.
The Conclave featured over 100 sessions across seven organ-specific scientific tracks, including insights into breast, gynecology, gastrointestinal, and hematological cancers. Experts like Dr. Elisabete Weiderpass from the WHO emphasized the rising global cancer burden, predicting a sharp increase in cases, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. “Prevention has become the key response to the cancer epidemic,” she noted.
Apollo Hospitals’ Ms. Preetha Reddy reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to improving outcomes with advanced treatments and compassionate care. Mr. Dinesh Madhavan highlighted the importance of early detection and innovation in reshaping the oncology landscape globally. In Guwahati, the focus on cancer care continues to grow as patients increasingly seek specialized treatments at institutions like Apollo Cancer Centres. With technological advancements, such as AI-based patient care and the introduction of new guidelines for breast cancer, Guwahati’s market is poised to benefit from enhanced cancer care access, serving a broader regional population. The event also underscored India’s role as a leader in global oncology.
