ABD Maestro Pvt. Ltd., the super-premium and luxury spirits subsidiary of Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD), has launched AODH Irish Whiskey in India, marking its entry into one of the fastest-growing categories in the country. The company, co-founded by Superstar Ranveer Singh, who also serves as creative partner, aims to build world-class brands for Indian and global consumers.
AODH, meaning “flame” in Irish, is positioned as an authentic Irish expression crafted using triple distillation. The whiskey features a bright gold hue with copper glints and offers notes of vanilla cream, light honey and toffee from ex-bourbon cask maturation, with a smooth and elegant finish.
Speaking on the launch, Bikram Basu, Managing Director, ABD Maestro, said the brand reflects centuries of distilling heritage while appealing to modern palates and strengthens the company’s super-premium portfolio. Irish whiskey exports to India have grown 57% in recent years, making the country the fifth-largest global market, according to Drinks Ireland’s Spirits 2024 Annual Report.
With West Bengal listed among the upcoming launch destinations, Kolkata is expected to respond positively to AODH’s premium positioning. The city’s evolving consumer base, increasingly leaning toward authentic international spirits, is seen as a key growth driver for the brand once rollout begins in the state. AODH Irish Whiskey has been launched in Haryana and will immediately enter Maharashtra at an MRP of ₹3,950 (750ml), followed by rollout in Goa, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi and key North Indian markets.
