NSDC International (NSDCI), Baton Transport, a European road transport company and Anywhere Jobs are partnering to address Europe’s shortage of skilled trailer drivers by mobilizing Indian drivers and empowering women in the trucking industry.
Europe is facing a significant shortage of trailer drivers, with demand outpacing the workforce. Anywhere Jobs has onboarded 30 highly qualified drivers for Baton Transport through a hiring drive in Delhi, highlighting the need for innovative solutions. On the partnership, Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDC International, offered his valuable insights on this initiative, highlighting the great opportunities for women to advance in their careers, “NSDCI’s commitment to empower women in the trucking sector is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of diversity, fostering an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a brighter future.”
Baton Transport is partnering with AnywhereJobs to recruit Indian men and women drivers for relay driving in Europe. With 10 women drivers already in the fleet, Baton aims to increase the representation of women drivers to 50%. The partnership will upskill Indian women taxi drivers for trailer driving roles in Europe.
