As Assam Anti-Corruption wing are in an operation since last few months to end corruption in the state. Many govt. officials are caught red handed accepting bribe from the needy.
Now, Minakshi Kakoti Kalita, an Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, was caught red handed in a trap laid by officers of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption worth more than Rs. 65 lakhs was recovered.
Report says that the Govt officer was demanding bribe from a person for some GST related work. Later the anti-corruption team raided the officer house and recovered cash of Rs 65,37,500.
