PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore. With a capacity for six million annual passengers and potential expansion to 40 million, the airport aims to boost growth in North Andhra. It features advanced technologies like AI and biometric systems, reflecting the region’s cultural heritage. Additionally, Modi announced Rs 18,000 crore in projects within the semiconductor and power transmission sectors during his visit.
He will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 460 crore ASIP Semiconductor Project in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, the state’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility under the India Semiconductor Mission, aiming to produce 96 million chips annually and develop a semiconductor ecosystem. He will inaugurate the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone’s Transmission System, costing Rs 5,550 crore, and dedicate National Highway projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore, including a new four-lane highway and a bridge on NH-565.
