Andhra CM Extends Congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma for WEF Appearance

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Himanta Biswa Sarma, marking him as the first Chief Minister from Assam to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Naidu met Sarma in Zurich and praised his historic representation of Assam on a global platform, expressing best wishes for his success. At the WEF, Chief Minister Sarma is set to participate in over 17 meetings and sign multiple memoranda of understanding, engaging in discussions on securing a workforce for the future, travel, tourism, health, and healthcare. He will also showcase Assam’s industrial progress, investment potentials, and success stories that contribute to India’s economic transformation. The WEF, founded in 1971 as a non-profit organization and considered a leading business conference, aims to bolster global economic growth through various sectors. Assam’s participation is anticipated to attract new investments, initiate projects, including semiconductor ventures, and generate job prospects for the youth. Notably, this is the first instance where the Central government has allowed Assam to represent India at the WEF, a privilege usually reserved for more developed states. Alongside Sarma and Naidu, four additional Chief Ministers—Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra), Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh), A Revanth Reddy (Telangana), and Hemant Soren (Jharkhand)—will also attend the meeting.
