Amit Shah’s impending visit is reviewed by Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Wednesday chaired a high-level coordination meeting at Samman Bhawan to review the preparations for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s upcoming visit to the state. The meeting brought together senior officials from various departments to finalise logistical arrangements, event schedules, and inter-departmental coordination, with a special focus on upholding Sikkim’s trademark warmth and hospitality.

According to officials, the visit by the Union Home Minister will include his participation in the Rashtriya Sahkari Sammelan-2025, a major event designed to strengthen India’s cooperative movement and promote new economic opportunities in Sikkim. During his visit, Shah is also expected to virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several key development projects, signalling the Centre’s commitment to supporting Sikkim’s growth and infrastructure initiatives.

Chief Minister Tamang directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure a smooth and well-organised visit. He also stressed the importance of showcasing Sikkim’s achievements in sustainable development, cooperative governance, and tourism. The meeting further discussed preliminary arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Sikkim in November. CM Tamang, who recently met the Prime Minister in New Delhi, formally extended an invitation on behalf of the state. Modi’s anticipated visit is expected to highlight Sikkim’s strides in infrastructure, connectivity, and environmental conservation, further strengthening the state’s ties with the central government.
