As all parties are intensifying their campaigning for the Assam Assembly polls, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah will hold a road show in Guwahati tomorrow. BJP sources said that Shah will lead the road show from Arya Vidyapeeth College playground at 5 pm in support of the party candidate for Guwahati Central constituency Vijay Kumar Gupta. Senior leaders of the BJP’s state unit will also take part in the road show.
The Guwahati Central constituency is likely to witness a straight contest between the BJP and Assam Jatiya Parishad’s (AJP) Kunki Choudhury, who is backed by the Congress-led Opposition alliance. Later in the evening, Shah will attend a meeting of the party’s state office-bearers at Hotel Taj Vivanta. The union home minister will spend the night in Guwahati.
