On Wednesday, French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathew visited the Himalayan Zoological Park in Sikkim’s Bulbuli region. Mathau and the French group were welcomed by Forest and Environment Secretary cum PCCF Pradeep Kumar and other authorities. They are informed about ongoing projects and initiatives including ‘My Child from the Wild’.
Himalayan Zoological Park launched “My Child from the Wild” animal adoption program with an aim to educate people about forest protection. During the ambassador’s visit from November 10 to 13, the French Consul General’s office in Kolkata expressed support for red panda conservation as part of the programme, which aims to involve the public in forest conservation through animal adoption.
