Amazon India announced the launch of a new Delivery Station in Guwahati, Assam. Spread across 10,000 square feet, the new station will enable Amazon to further strengthen its last-mile delivery network and ensure faster deliveries across the city of Guwahati and in areas such as Sonapur, Hatigaon, Beltola and Ambari, ahead of the upcoming festive season. Investments in Delivery Stations enable faster last-mile deliveries of orders to customers in the region and create local jobs in the city.
The company further announced the expansion of its delivery network with the launch of 8 new Amazon-owned and partner Delivery stations in the North East region this year to enable direct delivery presence in towns such as Morigaon, Diphu, Birpuria and Karimganj among others. This growth of the delivery network will enable Amazon to penetrate further into smaller towns across the region, with significantly more customers now being able to enjoy one-day and two-delivery promises. Over the years, Amazon has invested in deepening its reach and presence in the 8 states of North East India and now has close to 65 Amazon-owned and Delivery Service Partner stations that ensure direct delivery presence in more than 380 pin codes across the region.
