Amazon.in reports 20% growth in West Bengal’s home, kitchen and outdoors segment amid festive season

As the festive season approaches, Amazon.in has announced an impressive 20% year-on-year growth in its Home, Kitchen, and Outdoors business in West Bengal and Kolkata. This significant uptick highlights the region’s rising demand for home essentials, with notable growth in home improvement products and large furniture.

West Bengal has emerged as a vital market for Amazon, boasting over 62,000 sellers and three fulfillment centers in Kolkata alone. The state has seen a 30% increase in demand for home décor, with residents gravitating towards large furniture items such as storage beds and wardrobes. Kitchenware also performed well, with pots and pans seeing a 25% growth in demand.

Kolkata reveals distinct consumer trends, with vehicle tools experiencing nearly 40% growth year-on-year. The electric vehicle segment, in particular, saw extraordinary growth, with sales of electric two-wheelers surging more than tenfold. K N Srikanth, Director of Home, Kitchen, and Outdoors at Amazon India, expressed enthusiasm for the festive season, stating, “Kolkata is an important market for us, and we have seen robust growth of 20% YoY. We remain dedicated to supporting our brand partners while spreading joy to our customers.” With Diwali just around the corner, Amazon.in is poised to cater to the festive needs of households across the region.
