Almonds recognized as the top snacking choice for a healthy diet

The rise in lifestyle-related health issues, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and certain types of cancer, is largely due to lifestyle changes such as decreased physical activity, unhealthy diets, increased stress, and inadequate sleep. Despite advancements in medical technology, lifestyle changes remain effective in preventing diseases, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing healthy habits for overall health and wellbeing.

According to YouGov survey by the Almond Board of California revealed urban Indians are increasingly facing health issues like obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. To combat these, a balanced diet, regular exercise, and healthy snacks are essential. 85% of those with PCOS, Diabetes, and Hypertension have started consuming almonds for better health. Around 70% of almonds are seen as a good source of nutrition, protein, and energy.

Over 50% of people prefer almonds as a snack for managing weight, blood sugar levels, and heart health. A diet with nuts like almonds is identified as part of a healthy diet by 1 in 3 urban Indians. Ritika Samaddar, Regional Head – Dietetics, Max Healthcare – Delhi, “Regular consumption of almonds has been associated with various health benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, improving blood sugar control, and promoting weight management.”
