Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD), India’s largest domestic spirits company by volume, has announced the launch of its ICONiQ WINTER International Grain Whisky in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Following strong consumer demand in Maharashtra, the move marks ABD’s first expansion of India’s only winter-focused whisky into northern markets.
The brand has seen exceptional growth this year, doubling volumes and market share in the prestige whisky segment. In Uttar Pradesh, ICONiQ now ranks as the No. 2 brand, crossing 1 million cases within just five months of the financial year. Haryana has also recorded significant gains in market share, reflecting robust acceptance of the winter-special variant. Crafted with real spices such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, and ginger, and aged in Bourbon Oak Casks, ICONiQ WINTER offers a smooth, rich profile designed to complement the northern festive chill. Speaking on the expansion, ABD Managing Director Alok Gupta said, “Northern India’s vibrant festive culture and appreciation for fine spirits provide the ideal setting for this seasonal creation. ICONiQ WINTER brings warmth and craftsmanship together in a bottle that truly celebrates the season.”
In Kolkata, analysts note that seasonal whiskies like ICONiQ WINTER have begun attracting urban consumers in the city’s premium retail segment. Early receptions in key outlets suggest a growing curiosity among Kolkata’s discerning whisky drinkers, particularly during the winter festivities, signaling a promising avenue for further expansion. ICONiQ WINTER is priced at ₹620 (750 ml) in Uttar Pradesh and ₹570 in Haryana, and is now available across leading outlets.
