All-new Nissan Tekton promises bold drive for India’s SUV enthusiasts

Nissan Motor India has offered a first glimpse of its upcoming C-SUV, the All-New Tekton, ahead of its 2026 launch, aiming to redefine the driving experience for Indian consumers. Inspired by the iconic Nissan Patrol, the Tekton blends bold design, advanced technology, and premium craftsmanship. Its name, “Tekton,” meaning “craftsman” or “architect” in Greek, reflects Nissan’s philosophy of precision engineering and vehicles that resonate with people’s lifestyles.

As the second product under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy, the Tekton will be produced at Nissan-Renault’s Chennai plant for both domestic sale and select exports. The SUV showcases a muscular side profile, C-shaped headlamps, sculpted bonnet, rear lightbar, and mountain-inspired motifs on the front doors, offering a commanding presence on the road. Nissan executives emphasize that the Tekton is designed to meet the aspirations of modern Indian consumers seeking both style and performance.

Local dealerships report growing excitement among young professionals and families, with many drawn to the Tekton’s premium interiors, robust performance, and distinctive design. Early inquiries indicate potential strong uptake in the region, highlighting the rising popularity of mid-size SUVs in the Northeast. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan India, said, “The Tekton is at the heart of Nissan’s growth story, combining innovation, style, and performance to create a vehicle that truly connects with people.”
