AJP leader Lurinjyoti Gogoi to contest from Khowang seat

Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi is all set to contest the upcoming Assembly election from the Khowang seat in Dibrugarh district as the regional party announced its first list of candidates today.
The party has fielded Dilip Barua from Bajali, and nominated former Union Minister Rajen Gohain from Barhampur.
Similarly, Mainak Patra will contest from Dibrugarh, Bani Das from Morigaon, and Rejaul Karim Chowdhury from Binnakandi.
Further, Pankaj Lochan Goswami will contest from Palashbari, and Jiban Chutia has been named the AJP candidate for Sarupathar. The list reflects AJP’s attempt to balance regional representation and grassroots leadership.
Party leaders expressed confidence that the selected candidates will resonate with local voters and strengthen AJP’s vision of regional development and indigenous rights. AJP is contesting this elections in alliance with the Congress.
