Air India Express expands to 51 destinations, adds Bangkok, Dimapur and Patna to its network

Air India Express has reached a major milestone by expanding its network to 51 destinations across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The airline is set to launch direct flights from Pune and Surat to Bangkok starting December 20, 2024, with introductory Xpress Lite fares starting at ₹6,500 for Pune-Bangkok and ₹7,500 for Surat-Bangkok. The new route aims to tap into the growing demand for travel between India and Thailand, with convenient schedules offering multiple weekly flights from both cities.

In addition to the international expansion, Air India Express strengthens its domestic operations with the introduction of flights to Dimapur and Patna. Starting January 1, 2025, Dimapur will benefit from daily direct connectivity to Guwahati, while Patna will enjoy new links to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These new routes are expected to bolster regional connectivity and stimulate local economies.

The airline’s growing presence in cities like Pune and Surat aligns with its broader strategy to enhance accessibility to international destinations from emerging economic hubs in India. In Guwahati, these expansions provide crucial connectivity for both business and leisure travelers, further supporting Assam’s position as a key transit point for northeastern India. The added flights will also offer seamless one-stop connections, particularly from Dimapur to Delhi via Guwahati, boosting tourism and regional economic growth.
