The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has unveiled a series of ambitious initiatives to reshape India’s vocational training landscape, with a strong focus on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the curriculum. During a keynote address at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) – Women in Noida, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE, launched the pioneering AI Training Program in partnership with Microsoft.
The cornerstone of this initiative is the expansion of Microsoft’s AI Programming Assistant course across 200 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 15 NSTIs. Over 10,000 students are expected to benefit from this program in the upcoming academic session. “Emerging technologies and AI will help reimagine ITIs, creating a pool of trainers who will prepare future talent for new job environments,” said Shri Jayant Chaudhary.
To further empower India’s workforce, MSDE also signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key organizations, including the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (MSSIDC) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), aimed at enhancing skills in digital commerce and women’s entrepreneurship.In Guwahati, these initiatives are expected to foster a new wave of skilled professionals, particularly in AI and digital commerce, bolstering the region’s economic growth and positioning it as a hub for digital innovation.
