Agniveer Drive Begins: Indian Army Calls for Applications from Lower and Western Assam

The Indian Army has announced an online recruitment process for unmarried male candidates to enlist as Agniveers under the Agnipath Scheme for 2027. Applications are open exclusively for individuals from specific districts in lower and western Assam, including Barpeta, Kokrajhar, and Dhubri, among others, and must be submitted by April 1, 2026. The selection recruitment process will unfold in two phases: Phase I will involve an Online Computer-Based Common Entrance Examination (CEE) held at designated venues within the state. Successful candidates from the online exam will progress to Phase II, which consists of a Recruitment Rally. Candidates interested in applying are required to register at the official website, www.Joinindianarmy.nic.in, where they will be prompted to create a personal profile, confirm their eligibility, and finalize their application submission.

Upon successful application, candidates must pay an examination fee of Rs. 250, along with any applicable bank fees, through various payment methods, including debit/credit cards and UPI. It is imperative that applicants possess a valid email address and mobile number for future correspondence, and must enter their Aadhaar number as part of the application process, with a recommendation to link their Aadhaar with their mobile device. Additionally, applicants will need to choose five preferred examination centers during the application process.

To support potential recruits, the official website features category-specific practice tests for the Online CEE, as well as instructional videos detailing the registration and examination processes. For further inquiries, candidates can reach out to the Army Recruiting Office in Narangi via phone at 0361-2640134 or email at sis.putana@nic.in, and queries can also be submitted through the recruitment portal. The Agniveer recruitment initiative represents a distinctive opportunity for the youth of Assam to contribute to their nation with pride under the Agnipath Scheme.
