After smoke in cargo hold Qatar Airways Delhi-Doha flight diverts to Karachi

The airline said that a Qatar Airways was diverted to Karachi, Pakistan after it declared an emergency due to indication of smoke in the cargo hold. It was a Delhi to Doha passenger plane.

Qatar Airways said that, “On 21st March its flight (passenger plane) QR579 from Delhi to Doha diverted to Karachi after declared an emergency due to the indication of smoke detected in the cargo hold.”

In Karachi the aircraft landed safely. There it was met by emergency services and passengers disembarked it in an orderly manner using stairs.

The incident is currently under the investigation. Then a relief flight is being arranged to transport the passengers onwards to Doha.
