Major General Anurag Vij, additional director general (ADG), NCC North Eastern Region Directorate (NER), Shillong, on Tuesday visited the CATC-14 cum Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship (IDSSC) practice camp being conducted by 7 Assam Battalion NCC at the Kahilipara Shooting Range in Guwahati.
During the visit, Major General Vij reviewed the ongoing selection and intensive training of the NCC North Eastern Region team for the upcoming IDSSC. He was briefed on the firing schedule, training modules and overall camp arrangements.
Demonstrating keen interest in the training standards, the ADG inspected the firing range and participated in live firing to assess the facilities and preparedness of the cadets.
He also interacted with the trainees and encouraged them to uphold the values of discipline, dedication and excellence, both on and off the firing range.
Notably, the NCC is currently conducting a 40-day training camp at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati, where over 400 cadets from across the Northeastern states are undergoing specialised training and participating in the selection process for national-level shooting competitions.
