ACKO has introduced a groundbreaking feature on its app to facilitate the creation of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs. This move aligns with the National Health Authority’s vision of a digital healthcare ecosystem in India. ACKO aims to generate over a million ABHA IDs by the end of the fiscal year 2025. ACKO is the first in the insurance sector to offer this seamless integration, allowing users to create ABHA IDs through a simple three-step process involving downloading the ACKO app, initiating the ABHA creation flow, and verifying their Aadhaar and phone number via OTP. This feature is available to both ACKO customers and non-customers, ensuring broad accessibility.
With the new ABHA ID feature, users can store and manage their medical records, including prescriptions, lab reports, and hospitalization details, in a secure digital format. This centralization of health data empowers customers to have better control over their health information and facilitates improved communication with healthcare providers. Doctors can also access a patient’s comprehensive medical history through the ABHA ID, enabling more informed diagnoses and treatment plans.
Rupinderjit Singh, Vice President – Retail Health at ACKO, emphasized the initiative’s significance, stating, “The health data centralization and seamless flow of healthcare information is the next UPI moment for the country, contributing to the health revolution. Our platform simplifies the ABHA ID creation process, ensuring a smooth experience and empowering individuals to manage their health information efficiently.”
