Guwahati is fully prepared to host the much-awaited T20 International match between India and New Zealand on January 25, with the Assam Cricket Association issuing an advisory for spectators ahead of the high-profile clash. The match will be played at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. In an official statement, the ACA said all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure smooth conduct of the match. To manage the expected large turnout and maintain security, stadium gates will be opened from 4:00 pm, allowing spectators enough time to enter without congestion.
The T20I encounter between India and New Zealand has generated massive excitement among cricket lovers across Assam and neighbouring states. Reflecting the enthusiasm, most tickets for the match have already been sold out, underlining Guwahati’s growing importance as a regular venue for international cricket. Both teams are scheduled to arrive in the city on January 24 by chartered flights. They are expected to land at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in the evening. The ACA has arranged accommodation, practice facilities, and transport for players, officials, and broadcast teams.
According to the Association, preparations have been carried out in line with guidelines laid down by the International Cricket Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Special attention has been given to pitch conditions, player comfort, broadcasting arrangements, and crowd movement to meet international standards.As part of security measures, the ACA has released a list of items that will not be allowed inside the stadium. These include firearms, explosives, lasers, knives, firecrackers, large flagpoles, commercial camera equipment, whistles, horns, cosmetics, perfumes, animals, metal containers, glass bottles, backpacks, drones, political or promotional materials, and other hazardous or flammable items.
