The grand finale of Ablaze 2026 was held with much enthusiasm at the auditorium of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College in Gangtok, bringing together students, teachers and guests for a full day of cultural programmes and competitions.Justice A.P. Subba, Chairperson of Lokayukta, Sikkim, attended the event as the chief guest, while Arjun Kumar Ghatani, Advisor to the AYUSH Department, Government of Sikkim, was the guest of honour. The programme began with the arrival of dignitaries, followed by the national anthem and a welcome address by Vice Chancellor Jagannath Patnaik of ICFAI University Sikkim.
The formal session included felicitation of guests, lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the university song. Cultural performances formed a key part of the programme. Students presented a traditional Maruni dance reflecting Sikkim’s heritage, along with a Bhutanese dance and a group dance from Arunachal Pradesh, showing cultural diversity from across the region.In his address, the chief guest spoke about the role of youth in preserving culture and maintaining focus on education. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Registrar Dr Rohit Rathi.
The post-lunch session saw various competitions and performances. Students took part in group dances in eastern and western categories, solo song and solo dance events, and a cultural fashion show titled “Threads of Tradition”. The audience also watched a Bollywood remix performance and live music by students and staff.Prizes were also given to winners of Ablaze 2025, and jury members were honoured for their contribution. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Student Council.
