Acclaimed designer Abhinav Mishra launched his highly anticipated couture collection, The Shrine, in a spectacular open-air runway showcase at Chhatarpur Gardens, Delhi. The event marked a historic first as siblings Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan walked together on the runway, with Sara reprising her role as showstopper.
The immersive show, conceptualized by Mishra and brought to life by Rani Pink’s set design, recreated an architectural stepwell illuminated with thousands of candles and mirrored light, blending tradition with modern spectacle. Inspired by India’s shrines, palaces, and frescoed walls, the collection highlighted Mishra’s signature mirror work and gota embroidery, alongside contemporary silhouettes in organza, chiffon, silk, and georgette. Three central themes—Enchanting Blooms, Watercolour Artistry, and Delicate Harmony—drove the color palette of warm pastels and muted tones, while intricate embellishments added depth and luminosity to bridal lehengas, anarkalis, and menswear.
Luxury fashion segment welcomed the launch with optimism, with boutique owners noting a growing appetite for high-end couture inspired by Indian craftsmanship. Retailers reported early inquiries for mirror-work ensembles, signaling expanding interest beyond metropolitan hubs. Speaking on the event, Mishra described the collection as “a quiet celebration of history, retold in a language of softness, sparkle, and soul.” The showcase was elevated by partners including Johnnie Walker Luxe, Emerald Jewels, and BDesir cosmetics, further amplifying its aura of elegance and grandeur.
