Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD), India’s largest domestic spirits company by volume, has been awarded the Best Factory/Management Award for its integrated manufacturing facility at Rangapur in Wanaparthy district, Telangana. The recognition was conferred by the Labour, Employment, Training & Factories Department during International Labour Day celebrations on May 1, 2026, highlighting excellence in manufacturing and management. ABD’s Rangapur facility serves as a key production hub, housing an ENA distillery, an IMFL bottling unit, and a PET bottle manufacturing plant commissioned in September 2025. The integrated infrastructure enables better control over production cycles, cost efficiencies, and supply chain logistics. The company is also planning to add a malt distillery to enhance its premium portfolio and build strong single malt capabilities.
The facility employs around 1,500 people, with women comprising nearly 50% of the workforce. It has contributed to local employment generation by creating opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers, strengthening regional economic activity. The award, instituted under district-level May Day recognitions and aligned with the Skill India Mission, followed a rigorous assessment of safety standards, statutory compliance, employee welfare, and CSR initiatives.
In Kolkata, ABD’s integrated manufacturing capabilities are expected to improve supply consistency and distribution reach across eastern India. Industry observers believe that enhanced production efficiencies and a stronger premium portfolio could help the company expand its footprint in Kolkata, where demand for branded and premium spirits continues to grow steadily.
