A unit of the Assam Yoga Science College was inaugurated at Jamunamukh

The Assam Yoga Science College, one of the state’s top schools for teaching yoga sports, opened a branch at Jamunamukh. Prabhat Chandra Borah, Vice-President of the All India Yoga Federation and International Yoga Referee, formally opened the college’s unit with a candle-lighting ceremony. Dambaru Saikia, a well-known social organizer and educationist, presided over an event that was also conducted at the Jamunamukh Sankardev Vidyaniketan premises on this occasion. Yoga master Prabhat Chandra Borah spoke, emphasizing the value of yoga sports instruction in the modern world.

In addition to the faculty, students, and parents of Jamunamukh Sankardev Vidyaniketan, the event was attended by Uma Charan Dey, a retired bank official; Tanaji Sen Gupta, a seasoned yoga expert; national yoga referees Manasi Saikia, Daisy Ray Choudhury, and Lona Devi; retired teacher, former athlete, and artist Mukul Saikia; poet Minati Devi Kakati; Titu Dutta, a kho-kho sports organizer; social workers Dharmendra Bora, Brajen Saikia, Deuti Bora, Montu Baruah, and Nita Saikia Tamuli; Biju Dey; Bhagyashree Bora; and Pooja Bora.

This unit’s trainers will be Pooja Bora and Pranjit Bora, a senior yoga athlete and national yoga referee. Arpita Acharya and Pranshi Bora, two up-and-coming athletes, enthralled the audience with their yoga sports performances at the inaugural event. Pranjit Bora’s unique efforts in creating this Assam Yoga Science College unit at Jamunamukh have been acknowledged by the local yoga lovers.
