A test for Pakistan’s diplomacy is the US’ invitation to a summit on democracy

According to a media report, Pakistan’s diplomacy would be put to the test at the democracy summit in Washington, which starts on Tuesday, as the cash-strapped nation would try to renew relations with the US without upsetting its old ally China.
India and Pakistan have both received invitations to the summit, similar to the inaugural democracy summit in 2021.
Pakistan apparently decided not to attend the inaugural summit because the Biden administration did not try to contact Imran Khan, who was the country’s prime minister at the time.
