Coronavirus cases are growing in the country and same is the condition with testings. A robotic engineer from Coimbatore has developed smart swab robot for sample collection. The robot works automatically through connecting with phone via app and it eliminates any human interference that could help in containing the spread of coronavirus.
A day after India overtook Russia to become the third-highest country in the world in terms of coronavirus cases, the Indian Council of Medical Research said that the country has tested over one crore samples till date.
“The per day testing capacity which was around 1.5 lakh on May 25 is more than three lakh per day now,” said the institution’s scientist and media coordinator Dr. Lokesh Sharma.
A Coimbaore-based robotics engineer has developed a COVID-19 ‘Smart Swab Robot’ to collect test samples. This device is attached to a smartphone which can be operated using another smartphone from a safe distance.
