A fire broke out in shanties of Delhi’s Gokulpuri area

In the shanties of the Gokulpuri area of Delhi, a fire has been broke out. At least 7 people died in that fire.

It has been said by the Delhi Fire Services that a call was received around 1am at night. The call was about a fire that had engulfed about 60 huts. But the reason behind the fire has not been known yet.

A total of 13 fire tenders were rushed to the fire spot to bring the situation under control. It has been said by the fire department. 7 burned bodies were found at the spot by the fire tenders.

The additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east) Devesh Kumar Mahla said that the fire was finally doused around 4 am in the morning.

Delhi Fire Director Atul Garg said that it seemed that the deceased were sleeping during the fire broke out. So they could not escape the fire as the fire spread extremely fast.

The 7 burned bodies which are recovered by the fire tenders are not possible to recognise. In that rapidly spreading fire, about 60 huts were also completely burnt.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his grief about the death caused by the fire and the damage. He said that he would visit the incident spot soon and talk to the affected people and also the family of the dead people.
