8th Northeast Graduate Congress to Begin at USTM on March 26

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is set to host the eighth edition of the Northeast Graduate Congress (NEGC) 2026 from March 26 to 28 on its campus. Announced at a media conference in Guwahati, this significant event will gather thousands of undergraduate students from Northeast India, aiming to serve as the largest graduate platform in the region. NEGC 2026 focuses on empowering youth through various activities, including competitions and knowledge sessions aimed at enhancing leadership, creativity, and career readiness. Events will include literary and sports competitions such as quizzes, debates, and business ideation contests, with cash prizes to motivate participation. A highlight of the congress will be the Bollywood Night featuring performances by notable artists, fostering a vibrant cultural environment. Additionally, the NEGC will include discussions on youth development and entrepreneurship, along with the Zubeen Garg Fellowship aimed at recognizing and inspiring exceptional young talents in the region, promoting excellence and societal contribution. This fellowship embodies the NEGC’s commitment to fostering innovation and cultural pride among the youth.
