87% of Indians link Mosquito disturbances to family health risks, reveals Goodnight Survey

A nationwide survey commissioned by Goodknight, India’s leading household insecticide brand, has revealed alarming insights into the impact of mosquito disturbances on family health. The survey, conducted by YouGov, found that 87% of Indians believe sleep disturbances caused by mosquitoes are directly affecting the health and well-being of their families, particularly among children. This issue is widespread, with 87% of respondents in North, East, and West India, and 86% in South India echoing similar concerns.

The report highlights a disturbing trend: adults lose up to 2 hours of sleep every night due to mosquitoes, while children lose nearly 4 hours, leading to weakened immunity and increased susceptibility to illnesses like malaria and dengue. Nearly 60% of adults across age groups cited mosquito presence as a leading cause of restless nights, while parents reported that mosquitoes are the primary reason for their children’s disrupted sleep, surpassing even academic stress or illness.

In Guwahati, the situation is no different, with residents expressing frustration over the increasing mosquito menace. The market in Guwahati sees a surge in demand for mosquito repellents as families look for effective solutions to safeguard their loved ones from the risks posed by these pests.

Ashwin Moorthy, Chief Marketing Officer at GCPL, emphasized the need for increased awareness and innovation in mosquito control to tackle the growing health threat. He stated, “In India, over 40 million citizens are affected by mosquito-borne diseases annually, impacting productivity and economic growth.” Goodknight continues to lead in innovation with its new Goodknight Flash Liquid Vaporiser, featuring the indigenously developed Renofluthrin molecule, proven to be twice as effective as other mosquito repellents currently available in India.
