The seventh edition of Exercise Sangam, a joint military service division exercise between Indian Navy MARCOs and naval forces SEALs commenced in state. This edition which is able to see personnel from SEAL Team 5 based mostly at city, US and Indian Navy MARCOs from INS Abhimanyu along aims at exchange of concepts and experiences on numerous aspects of maritime special operations. The exercise is planned for a length of 3 weeks whereby personnel can exercise and hone their skills in maritime interdiction operations, dissent missions, combat free fall jumps, special heliborne operations and numerous alternative evolutions.
Exercise Sangam was initial conducted in 1994 and is a very important military and diplomatic initiative between the 2 nations, reflective of the trust and friendly relationship between them. It aims to exchange concepts and experiences on numerous aspects of Maritime Special Operations. A joint exercise among US SEALs, Indian Navy MARCOs and alternative collaborating nations’ military service division is control annually as a part of Exercise Malabar. The Sangam exercise could be a bilateral exercise strictly between the US and Indian division.
